RN: Acne

Course Information

Acne is a common skin condition affecting millions.  This course will highlight acne types and treatments.

This course has been approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing and the California Board of Vocational Nursing for 2 Contact Hours


1. Identify characteristic presentations of acne of different types of acne

2. Explain the significance of multiple treatment modalities for the improvement of acne (oral, topical)

3. Describe the two psychological issues patients with acne may experience

Course Instructor

Maryrose Espil, RN, MSN has more than 25 years experience in the health care field. She started training as a nursing assistant as a teen and has worked as a CNA, Certified Home Health Aide, Licensed Vocational Nurse and Registered Nurse in various health care settings. She received her Master’s Degree in Nursing Education from Excelsior College in 2012. She enjoys teaching and developing curriculum while working as a registered nurse in direct patient care.
